It is time for some fantastic ole’ short track racing with a high-banked half-mile track, that will offer a number of the best racing of the NASCAR season. The .533 mile short track is among the most popular on the NASCAR circuit because of the increased amount of paint swapping happening throughout the race. Last year, Johnson handed Kevin Harvick with 21 laps remaining, then drove away because of his next Dragon Energy Cup Series win in a row along with his second in the half-mile Tennessee track.
Rusty Wallace holds the record for the most wins in this race with six, while Darrell Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt have five. Cale Yarborough, Jeff Gordon and Kurt Busch have four wins, while David Pearson and Kyle Busch have three wins. Bobby Allison and defending champion Carl Edwards have just two wins.
